A classical scene of a fruit orchard depicting flowering crab apples and a variety of birds including a pair of traditional long tailed pheasants which were popular motifs in the decorative art of chinoiserie. On natural grounds such as grass cloth or arrowroot or sanded paper these designs compare favourably to the hand painted originals.
